Middleweight champion Sergio “Maravilla” Martinez of Argentina but living in Oxnard, Calif. continues his preparations for his upcoming bout which will be against WBO junior middleweight champion Sergiy Dzinziruk (37-0, 23KOs) of Ukraine on Saturday March 12th at the Foxwoods Resort Casino in Mashantucket, CT which will be shown live on HBO’s ‘World Championship Boxing’ doubleheader.
Martinez continues his boxing training at the World Crown Sports Training Center in Port Hueneme, CA and says everything is according to plan and feels confident.
Many say Sergiy Dzinziruk is the top 154-pounder in the world, even though he is virtually unknown to American fight fans. Martinez, who is moving up in weight, will earn more than $1 million. The Dzinziruk side will receive a package of $850,000.
In the HBO-televised co-feature, Lee (24-1, 18 KOs), a 2004 Irish Olympian, will face fellow southpaw Craig McEwan (19-0, 10 KOs), a Los Angeles-based Scotland native.
Thanks bori, exactly my point. He won the legit middleweight title from Pavlik and defended the title against Williams. Now he’ll be fighting at 154 lbs. LMAO
Never seen Sergiy Dzinziruk fight before hopefully he’s at least somewhat entertaining.
