WBC middleweight champion Sergio “Maravilla” Martinez presented an honorary WBC championship belt to Pope Francis Wednesday in St. Peter’s Square at the Vatican.
The two shook hands and spoke briefly, both Sergio and the Pope hail from Argentina. The video below shows Martinez given the pope his belt.
Martinez is injured and not expected to fight again until next year.
