Top Rank’s, Bob Arum said that the Cotto-Chavez fight would likely land in Atlantic City, New York’s Madison Square Garden or the MGM Grand in Las Vegas on December 4th. The 24-year-old son of the former multi-world champion was forced to pull out of his tune up fight on September 11th due to some financial arguments with his uncles, Miguel Molleda and Rodolfo Chavez, who claimed Chavez Jr. owed them money but the reality is that they where upset that Chavez replaced them with Freddie Roach.

Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. is currently being trained by Freddie Roach at the Wild Card Gym in Los Angeles, CA, and is sparring with Manny Pacquiao. Chavez will play the role of Margarito during their sparring as Pacquiao gets ready to take on Antonio Margarito on November 13th.

Many believe Chavez Jr. would be too big and too strong for the smaller Miguel Cotto. Others believe Chavez Jr. will get a beat down from Cotto.

Personally I didn’t see anything in his win over Duddy that would make me think Chavez can somehow beat Cotto but then again I wasn’t impressed with Cotto’s performance against handicapped Yuri Foreman.

  1. this is for you, bori_4_life, you keep on “lmao-ing” you think you know everything, I seen Chavez Jr. spar with his dad , he did good. Now he’s sparring with Manny Pacman , so that’s telling you while he’s sparring, he’s training with the best fighter out there, and he has the best trainer out there.
What does Cotto have? What does Canelo have? Canelo has Oscar? So that makes him a bad-ass? They wanna throw him to the lines? He is just gonna end up, like Vargas. A nobody. Vargas started like Canelo, everyone thought he was a bad-ass.
I guess you still laughing cause that’s all you know how to do.
So keep on laughing, let’s see who’s right, and who’s wrong.

  2. I think yuri is very good fighter and he showed toughness fighting with that hurt knee. Lesser fighters would have call it a day if their knee would have buckled like that. Cotto was just too GREAT for him. Isnt that right jesse?lol
Why dont you express your opinion out in the open like everyone else does. Dont just through thumbs up or down with no good reason why or just cuz you dont agree. State your argument like a man not like some coward from behind a curtin.

  3. Why don’t you put your thumbs up in Cotto’s ass, cause there are no haters here, just facts.Guess you don’t know shit about boxing. That’s like telling me put my thumb up my ass, i’m just speaking the truth, Cotto aint great and never will be great.
