Someone posted the highlights of Ricardo Mayorga on Facebook and I have to admit, I miss that crazy guy. I have been to several of his press conferences/fights and trust me, Mayorga knows how to sell tickets and he is known for getting under your skin. This guy will talk so much crap he made the press conferences entertaining. His street brawling style also made him a dangerous opponent. One of his famous over hand right hooks and you will be knocked out. He wasn’t your typical boxer. If he didn’t knock you out in the first 6 rounds, he was done.
I remember covering his fight with Fernando Vargas and let me tell you, it was awesome. His fight with Tito Trinidad was a classic. Who is stupid enough to say “Hit me, Hit Me”? Or his last fight with Miguel Cotto earlier this year. This guy was telling Cotto to fight him against the ropes, it was stupid but awesome.
Mayorga has lost five of his last nine fights and this maybe the end of his career. At the age of 37, he has definitely kept us entertained.

Mayorga has been calling out Canelo for the longest time on Twitter. He goes as far as insulting his mother. Dude is crazy in my book. He said he would retire Cotto and do his family a favor by KOing him early. He talks shit to fighters to their face. Canelo will be no exception…stay tuned
