APRIL 9 “ACTION HEROES” ANNOUNCEMENT PRESS CONFERENCE QUOTES
“Action Heroes” featuring Morales vs. Maidana in a 12-round junior welterweight bout, Wright vs. Macklin in a 10-round super middleweight fight and Guerrero vs. Katsidis in a 12-round lightweight battle is presented by Golden Boy Promotions in association with Erik Morales’ Box Latino and Universum Box Promotions and sponsored by Cerveza Tecate, DeWalt Tools and Tres Generaciones. Wright vs. Macklin is presented in association with Winky Promotions and Guerrero vs. Katsidis is presented in association with Sampson Boxing. The bouts will be produced and distributed live on HBO Pay-Per-View beginning at 9:00 p.m. ET/6:00 p.m. PT.

I agree with TijuanaBoxing that Morales needss to box and not get into a toe to toe battle. I give him credit for accepting a very tough, youg puncher like Maidana to try and prove that he can still compete at an elite level.
I hope morales fights smart and gets this win. I think maidana is a little over rated, he’s tough and strong but not as good as alot of people think. This is a chance for maidana to shine against an old morales. Then again morales can shine brite if he has the chin to stand up to maidanas power. The bad part of this is that it looks like its going to be another war for morales. Still I hope the old goat wins.

Yeah I’m with you on that, I also think Morales “might” beat Maidana, but I think the risk is to high for a fighter that has been in so many wars and hasn’t shown much after the so call “come back”.
6 years ago, Morales would have killed Maidana, target practice for the old Morales, but today he could be in for real danger, I’m a fan of Morales, so I hope I’m wrong, but I think the risk is way to high to gamble with someone’s health.

Don’t get me wrong I like Maidana he’s a gamer alright but really I wish he had beaten the hell out of Khan, and learn how to box’s and be in more better shape, fire those trainers of his as well.

Is there a tittle fight here? How many of them have actually won their last fights?
On top of that Morales Vs Maidana is insane, Morales will always be one of favorite Fighters, but he is not the same Morales who fought Barrera, Zaragoza and the 1st Pacquiao fight, to go to “war” against a prime hard puncher and pressure fighter in Maidana is totally crazy, especially considering the countless wars that Morales has been in. I’ll give him credit (and always have) for not going with easy fights, but Maidana is a monster right now and Morales has been in a down spiral ever since his second fight with Pacquiao back in 2006! You can’t turn back time.
I hope Morales comes to box Maidana and not to go into a war, I don’t want to see Morales take any more punishment. He says he doesn’t need the money, then retire while you still have your health, that is something most boxers don’t know how to do and need someone to guide them into doing the right thing, instead they get Money hungry promoters like GBP that will risk their health more than the typical boxer does by just going into a normal fight.
And just to be clear, I do give Morales a chance of winning! He had and probably still has better skills than Maidana does, but the pressure and power that Maidana brings to the table could be way to much to handle, the risk is just to high to find out if Morales can pull it off, health should come first for a warrior like Morales, to bad Oscar De La Hoya doesn’t think so, then again, what does De la Hoya knows about taking beatings and showing heart, he showed none of that when he didn’t answer the bell and quit on his stool against Pacquiao, go figure!
I like the card (the Winky fight not soo much but can prove interesting) Golden Boy is putting an entire card together that i’m actually excited about all the way through. I think Guerrero/Katsidis and Maidana/Morales are gonna be action packed. (Maidana/Morales as long as it lasts anyways) Cant go wrong with Katsidis or Maidana in any fight cuz they are always gonna fight hard till the end win or lose. No doubt I’m not missing this one.
