WBO light flyweight champion Ivan Calderon (34-0-1, 6 KOs) retained his title with a twelve round unanimous decision over Jesus Iribe (17-7-4, 10 KOs) on Saturday night at the Theater inside Madison Square Garden, NYC. Jesus knocked Calderon down in round two Calderon beat the count and bounce back and out boxed Iribe. The score was 118-109, 118-109, and 116-111.
Rumor is that Yuriorkis Gamboa will face newly-crowned IBF Orlando Salido on July 24 at the Palms Casino in Las Vegas. Gamboa of Miami by way of Cuba is coming off a 12 round unanimous decision over previously unbeaten Jonathan Victor Barros (28-1-1, 16KOs) in his third title defense.
Wait until these guys get challenged by Gayweather… coz right now he’s ducking all the best in the welterweight division especially Pacquiao.
