Join the champs on the links at the 7th Annual Tournament of Champions, hosted by the World Boxing Hall of Fame, this Saturday, September 20 at the Country Club at Soboba Springs in San Jacinto, CA. The check-in begins at 11:00 a.m. and the shotgun start is at 12:30 p.m.Â
Fighters scheduled to attend include Israel Vazquez, Chris Arreola, Ken Norton, Greg Haugen, Danny “Little Red” Lopez, Armando Muniz, Carlos Palomino, Paul Gonzales, Henry Tillman, Ruben Castillo, Bobby Chacon and many other special surprise guests.
WBHF President Adolfo Perez is looking forward to the tournament, “It’s going to be a good time and it’s always great to be with the champs.”
A hole-in-one contest and a putting contest will also take place and up for grabs are boxing tickets, cash prizes, vacations, plaques, trophies, goodie bags and more.
Former welterweight and Olympian Armando Muniz was involved in the very first Tournament ofÂ
Champions. “Oscar de la Hoya was at our first golf tournament in 1998,” he remembers, “and I’ve been at every tournament since then. We skipped a couple of years, but now it’s an annual event.”
When asked his golf handicap was, Muniz joked, “My only handicap is that I speak too fast.”
Muniz, a current member of the WBHF Executive Committee, says of the upcoming event,Â
“I’m very optimistic and I’m very happy that we already 90 golfers signed up in advance.”
For those of you who do not golf, you can still attend the Awards Ceremony Dinner beginning at 6:00 p.m. and participate in the silent auction, raffle, and entertainment at the awards dinner.
The women have not been left out and will enjoy complimentary manicures, lunch, and will be treated to a fun time at Soboba Casino while their golfing spouses duke it out on the greens.

You can also visit The 12th Annual Soboba Pow Wow. which will coincide with the golf tournament onÂ
Saturday. The Pow Wow features live dancing, drum contests, craft booths and authentic food vendors.
