It sounds like a joke and in some weeks we will know if the bout can be solidified.
Bob Arum, Team Pacquiao and Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. are fascinated with the idea of a bout between the two.
“If Julio Cesar wins in July, we can have them fight in November, that is the plan and its serious,” Arum stated.
“I am going to talk soon to Manny, his trainer Freddy Roach and his team, I don’t want to talk to soon by giving out names but we’ll see who is next,” Arum said minutes after Pacquiao’s win over Ricky Hatton last Saturday night.
“They see an easy fight for Pacquaio against Julio, they think that it can be to their advantage and they say that for them, it will be an easy fight,” the President of Top Rank expressed.
The bout more than likely would be at a catch weight, probably between jr. welterweight and welterweight.
Chavez Jr. traveled to Las Vegas to see Pacquaio in action.
“Of course I would fight him (Pacquaio), there is no inconvenience from my part, if Arum tells me that I go against the Filipino, then we will be ready,” Chavez Jr. stated.
Other names that were mentioned as possible foes for Pacquaio besides Mayweather Jr. were Miguel Cotto and Shane Mosley.

Besides J/C jr. is no where near to being able to fight someone like Manny Pacquiao.
chavez jr is nowhere near close to fighting pacman… he needs to fight his way to pacman and prove he is worthy… now on the other hand mayweather is a disgrace to boxing Juan manuel marquez is a better fighter than mayweather
Chavez vs Gomez would be a better match for him
Chavez is not ready for Pacman, I rather see Mayweather and Pacman.
