Rumors continue to circulate the internet about a possible fight between WBC and WBO middleweight champion Kelly “The Ghost” Pavlik (36-1, 32 KO) of Youngstown, Ohio taking on Sergio “Maravilla” Martinez (44-2-2, 24 KO).
According to FightHype the bout is set to take place on April 17, from the Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, New Jersey. HBO will air the fight as part of a double header, co-featuring IBF super middleweight champion Lucian Bute’s title defense against wild slugger Edison Miranda.
“We’re discussing several fights,” said Pavlik’s co-manager, Cameron Dunkin. When asked about a report on the website FightHype that the fighters have agreed to terms for an April bout. “That’s just one of them.” Added Top Rank spokesman, “that’s the first I’ve heard of it.”
This will be an awesome fight lets hope it’s true.
