Omar Chavez to fight in TV Azteca America

pix1With the presence of the Mayor of Ensenada, Pablo Alejo, and the President of Zanfer Promotions, Fernando Beltran, the bout for this Saturday night was officially announced. Joksan Hernandez will have the most important fight of his young career when he faces the veteran and world ranked Hector Velazquez in a bout that will be televised by TV Azteca America. Hernandez (15-1, 9 KOs) is in search of Velazquez’s (51-12-2, 35 KOs) world ranking as they both fight for the WBC Continental featherweight title in the Municipal Gymnasium of Ensenada, Oscar “Tigre” Garcia.

“It is a great fight and I have done a great camp and I will not miss this opportunity or disappoint my audience in Ensenada,” Hernandez stated in a press conference held at the world famous Papas and Beer in downtown Ensenada, Mexico.

pix2On the same fight card, the youngest member of the Chavez dynasty, Omar “Business Man” Chavez (15-0-1, 11 KOs) will take part in his first six round bout where he will face Patrick “Raging Bull” Cape (5-6, 3 KOs). “I like Ensenada very much and I am very excited being here and that it will be here that my first fight at six rounds will be held. It can be said that this is where my career takes off,” Omar Chavez said.

It was also announced that the former national amateur champion Missael Castillo (9-0-0, 8 KOs) who is considered one of the most promising rising prospects in Mexico as well as a bout between undefeated Luis Uribe (21-0, 16 KOs) and Michel Rosales (23-3, 21 KOs) for the Mexican FECOMBOX title.
