Mercito Gesta’s career has been gaining momentum as of late with this being his third nationally televised fight in a row on Telefutura’s “Solo Boxeo Tecate.” Gesta’s reputation in his hometown of San Diego, CA, by way of Mandaue City, Philippines, has grown exponentially due to his recent achievements inside the squared circle.

San Diego, with its large Filipino community, has provided Gesta with a ready made following to go along with fans from his native country as well as San Diegans and west-coast fight enthusiast which you can bet will be in full attendance to get the back of their adoptive son as he looks to introduce himself to the rest of the world with another impressive victory.

While Gesta will be donning the support of the ubiquitous city of surfboards and bikinis, he will have a tough test to swim through in Los Mochis, Mexico’s durable and seasoned Ivan “Relampago” Valle. Valle possesses a good arsenal and has faced the sport’s best while showing knockout power and a stout beard in the process.

While Friday’s main event has been called a stay busy fight for Gesta en-route to bigger and better foes, Valle is nothing to play with and boasts the ability to stop the rise of the nimble Filipino sensation. Mercito and co-manager/trainer Vince Parra have acknowledged this to be true and team Gesta have prepared themselves to the highest degree.

This fight has fireworks written all over it as Mercito Gesta has been on fire knocking out six of his last eight opponents while Valle boasts twenty-four stoppages in twenty-eight wins so don’t miss this eight-round lightweight thriller that has implications of a war befitting the military city it takes place in.

The co-main event features an eight-round featherweight contest between Riverside, CA, prospect Michael “Lil’ Warrior” Franco (16-0, 11KOs) and Mexico City’s always tough Adolfo “El Terror” Landeros (20-15-1, 9KOs).

Michael Franco will look to stay undefeated while continuing his rise to stardom after coming off an injury in August which postponed the original date for this fight. Franco will have his hands full though dealing with the veteran crowd-pleasing Adolfo Landeros who always comes to fight giving world-class fighters all they can handle and more.
