WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko offered $1.5 million dollars to the “Russian Giant” Nikolay Valuev for a title bout this summer. Vitali personally flew to St. Petersburg, Russia, to make his offer.
“I offered Nikolai one and a half million American dollars for a fight. I’m not going to bargain. If he refuses this offer, I shall box against other contender – someone who is high up in the rankings. For Nikolai, motivation should be enough. In fact, he gets the opportunity to fight for the most prestigious championship belt –which was owned at one time by Muhammad Ali, Mike Tyson and Lennox Lewis. Regardless, there is a purse attached for an amount that he never received in the past, even when he was champion,” Klitschko concluded.
The seven foot Valuev (50-2, 34 KOs) lost his WBA crown to England’s David Haye (24-1, 22 KOs) in November of 2009 by majority decision. There is no word if Nikolay agreed to or not but his promoter Don King is asking for $2.5 million.
Yeah you’re absolutely right, he’s dumb. Every heavyweight wants a piece of the Klitschko’s. And the offer is not bad. 🙂
Take the money you dumb giant. Do you really think you’ll get another title shot in the future !!!
