The Scene at the Exchange LA

The action was fierce in the historic Exchange LA venue as Bash Boxing held a live boxing show in downtown Los Angeles.

Billed as “DTLA Fights,” this location proved to be a winner for all the fans that packed into this two-story building in the City of Angels.

I went to the show to check out two young fighters that I first met when they were amateurs. Amateur sensation Ryan Garcia, 18, and amateur champ Damien Lopez, 21, were both victorious in their August 17 bouts. I met Ryan when he was eight years old and Damien when he was just ten. Now both young men are unbeaten as new pros and hope to continue their streak and rise to the top. In the main event, Garcia scored a MelBunnyknockout win over Jonathan Cruz and Lopez won a unanimous decision over Hugo Padilla.

The two young punchers are both scheduled to fight again on September 24.

And the night was a knockout evening for special guests in the crowd including champs and prizefighters Mia St. John, Carlos Morales, Sindy Amador, Taishan Dong, amateur fighters Sean Garcia and Miguel Gaona, Spar-Star girl Mel Bunny, the Spearmint Rhino ring girls and more.

The fans said they liked this unique setting to watch fights and the VIP guests said they always enjoy Bash Boxing cards.

“I really like the place,” champ Sindy Amador told me, “and I enjoyed the fights and the great atmosphere.”

Promoter Steve Bash has had a very busy year promoting pro boxing, MMA and Xtreme fighting with more events planned in the future.
