Yesterday Top Rank hosted a final press conference for the much anticipated “Latin Fury 13 /Pinoy Power III”.

Nonito Donaire (22-1, 14 KOs) who was scheduled to fight this Saturday night as the main event in Las Vegas but his opponent Gerson “El Nene” Guerrero (34-8, 26 KOs) was pulled from the fight for failing an eye exam.

Luckily for Donaire who has been training for over two months his promoter, Bob Arum, was able to waive his magic wand and within no time, he had a new challenger.

Manuel ‘Chango’ Vargas, (26-4-1), of Mexico will replace Guerrero.

I don’t know about you but neither Manuel Vargas nor Gerson Guerrero brought much interest and definitely is not pay-per-view worthy.

  3. This fight is really rediculous .Donair needs to find a fighter who is competitive .I understand that his opponent was disqualified for vision aberration but this dosen’t mean that he HAVE to fight an anonnymous fighter who is
    an easy prey .
This is the most rediculous thing I have ever heard.Bob Arum is saying that his opponent is a rough kid .give me a break ,Arum dosen’t care who fights who, all he care about is the $ which is understandable but please stop saying that Garcia is a tough boxer .

The ultimate hypocrisy as usual from Arum.
