My Prediction on Miguel Cotto vs Yuri Foreman

Three-time world champion Miguel Cotto and undefeated WBA world super welterweight champion Yuri Foreman both hosted a media work out in New York City for their upcoming super welterweight championship on Saturday, June 5 at the Yankee Stadium in front of about 30,000 fans.

Miguel Cotto is just 29 but there are many who whisper about him being done. Cotto is coming off a devastating loss to Manny Pacquiao last November and many believe he was done after his first loss to Antonio Margarito in 2008.

I too believe Cotto has taken to much punishment though he only has lost twice. I don’t think his ready to hang up the gloves but I do believe
retirement is around the corner.Miguel Cotto is not stupid. He knows this fight is his chance to prove he’s still a legitimate contender and on Saturday not only is a title on the line but his career.

My prediction is that Yuri Foreman might upset all Puerto Rican fans. I have to go with Foreman for many reasons but the main reason is although Cotto has a ferocious style, I don’t think his 67 inch reach and 5’7 height will be enough to compete with the bigger Yuri Foreman who is 5’11 with a 72-inch reach.

Foreman might not have the power to knock out Cotto considering he only has 8 KOs in 28 wins but Foreman has the boxing skills to out work Cotto for the schedule twelve rounds.

  1. i would like to see that but i would like to see cotto vs williams first. i think cotto can upset williams. williams last 2 fights were horrible. and i still think he lost against cintron. i think cottos jab will be to much for williams and williams body and chin will be under attack. i wanna see cotto vs williams in november

  6. the closer we get to this fight, the more I go for Yuri Foreman. am I the only one going for Foreman?

  7. I go for Cotto. If Cotto will box he’ll surely win by a decision in 12th but he thinks of knocking out Yuri, he’ll should go for it on the 5th or 6th round of th fight.

  9. this will be yuri 3rd 12round fight and his first 12round fight lasted 3 rounds called a nc because of a head butt and foreman couldnt continue. he has never fought a fighter like cotto. he fought santos and santos coming in, looked sloppy. cotto is nowhere near done. cotto will ko yuri in the 8th or 9th round. yuri was holding and moving around alot in the late rounds against santos. foremans height will be his doom. cotto is a great body puncher. that equals body damage cotto is gonna destroy this kid. then i will hear he was to weak for cotto. every article has two excuses made for foreman. a negative and positive one. he has a great style (positive) he has no power (negative). no matter what reporters will not give him credit if he wins. i think more people want to see him loose. pacman will be at the fight and i smell a rematch in nov against cotto.   12. I don’t think Foreman can handle Cotto’s power. If he boxes he should win a decision against Cotto. If he decides to trade punches then good might Foreman.
