Mosley testimony released

Shane Mosley told a grand jury in 2003 that he injected himself with the doping agent EPO as he prepared for a fight against Oscar De La Hoya, according to court transcripts and doping calendars reviewed by the New York Daily News.

The transcript of the boxer’s testimony was part of a BALCO file that was under a protective order before U.S. District Court Judge Susan Illston decided last Wednesday to allow prosecutors to share thousands of documents with Barry Bonds’ lawyers.

Mosley has acknowledged using performance-enhancing drugs but has denied knowing the drugs were banned or illegal. His lawyer, Judd Burstein, told the newspaper the testimony is consistent with what his client has said publicly.

“I am very relieved that this grand jury testimony has been released because it confirms that Shane has consistently recounted his dealings with (Victor) Conte from 2003 to today,” Burstein said in a story posted on the paper’s Web site Tuesday night.

Conte, the convicted steroids dealer who founded the Bay Area Laboratory Co-Operative, has said he saw Mosley take EPO during a meeting in which Mosley was told the benefits and risks of performance-enhancing drugs and how to use them.

Mosley, who beat De La Hoya in the 2003 junior middleweight title bout, is expected to fight Antonio Margarito on Jan. 24, 2009 in an HBO-televised fight for the world welterweight championship,  gave his testimony to the same grand jury before which Barry Bonds allegedly committed perjury. Although he has claimed since then that he thought BALCO’s injectibles were safe and legal supplements, Mosley made it clear to the grand jury that he was worried the products Conte provided him were possibly dangerous

  1. Lol the funny thing here is Fernando took Winstrol, it’s much more powerful that what Mosley took, it increases strength and it helps to loose fat and keep lean mass, I remember how Fernando looked for that fight, ripped as hell, he really wanted to give DLH a beating, but when you don’t have it you don’t have it no mater what you take.
Mosley’s EPO was more for stamina..

Sooooo, the question here is, now Mosley is fighting Margarito who doesn’t run out of gas at all, does this means that if Mosley is clean for this fight he wont be able to keep up with Tony sense he was taking stuff for stamina back in 03 for DLH and we know Margarito is no DLH (stamina wise). Mosley has no chance if you ask me..

  2. At least Mosley Won the Fight , Not Like Fernando Vargas lol.

Wait… Mosley and Vargas both use Steroids against Oscar De La Hoya
Oscar is not Superman, I wounder if Manny is using Steroids lol

  3. Yeah right, then he will say he thought it was vitamin B, imagine that, he wasn’t even caught using them, how boxers do you think take steroids and never get caught?

I think the problem is they are not really checking.

And well, I also think he will need to take more than that to be able to compete against Margarito!
