More on Paul Williams Boxer

Paul Williams was riding his motorcycle to Atlanta, N.J. to attend his brothers wedding Sunday morning. George Peterson, Williams’ trainer, manager told ESPN that Williams, who was wearing his helmet, rode out of his lane to avoid a car that was moving into his lane but that another car was coming toward him in the other direction. Peterson said Williams swerved to avoid the oncoming car and wound up riding up a steep embankment and lost control of the motorcycle before flying several feet in the air and landing on his back on the road.

Doctors have confirmed Paul Williams is paralyzed from the waist down, will never walk again and that his boxing career is over. This is probably the worse news anyone can receive.

I had the pleasure of meeting Williams in numerous occasions and he’s such a cool guy, very soft spoken but always smiling. It’s such a tragedy. Words can’t describe how I feel. Paul Williams was scheduled to face “Canelo” Alvarez in September and it was his opportunity to bounce back in the game.

All that changed within seconds.

In the bright side I will rather see Williams in a wheel chair than 6-feet under. I ask everyone to keep Williams in your prayers for a quick recovery.
