A few months ago a Florida judge ruled against former boxing champion Ricardo Mayorga from making his MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) debut, forcing the entire pay-per-view card to be canceled due to breach of contract. Don King, who has promoted Mayorga continuously since 2001, sought an injunction to bar Mayorga from competing, arguing that his contract covered all combat sports and that King would be irreparably damaged if Mayorga competed in the MMA fight.

Don King posted a $1 million dollar cash bond in the case to prevent Mayorga’s MMA debut. Now Ricardo Mayorga is refusing to sign a document that allows his promoter Don King to withdraw his deposit from the Florida court. Mayorga tried to negotiate his release, in exchange for signing that document but King refused to negotiate anything with the Nicaraguan boxer.

Although Don King demanded Mayorga to sign, Mayorga was pissed that King did not offer him a deal alternative on a possible return to the ring nor his release. Mayorga told King he will settle for $100,000 only because he didn’t allow him to fight in MMA but Don King refused such deal. Mayorga claimed King ruined his career and accused Mr. King of robbing him.

This will not be the first time Don King was accused of stealing or being compared to President Nixon of“I am not a crook”fame.
