Puerto Rican Miguel Cotto, the former two divisional world champion, will be traveling this weekend to Dallas, TX, to take in the mega bout between Manny Pacquiao and Joshua Clottey at Cowboy Stadium. Once there, Cotto of Caguas, Puerto Rico, will discuss with Bob Arum of Top Rank, his upcoming challenge of WBA light middleweight champion Yuri Foreman slated for June 5th at Yankee Stadium.
According to reports, HBO and Top Rank have reached an agreement to broadcast the bout on the World Champion Boxing series instead of PPV.
It is rumored that if Pacquiao and Cotto win their respective bouts, they would rematch later this year their November 14th, 2009 bout in which Pacquiao captured the WBO title that he will be defending against Clottey.
Cotto (34-2, 27KO), who stated that this will be his last year in the ring, will be training once again in Tampa, Florida, for his bout with Foreman where he has trained for his last two bouts.
I saw Cotto during THE EVENT. I can only make a guess what was he thinking then. Maybe, mentally telling Clottey, “NOW YOU KNOW”.
Cotto needs to change his manager & be open to new style of fighting I think he can beat margarito just the way shane did pac man is a different ball game he really needs a trainer & stop keepin people from his circle tellin him everything is good you need better sparring partners & trainer and most of all be hungry any body wanna dispute this e-mail me @ [email protected]
if there was a rematch it would be in the 154 division. it will sell more tickets and ppv buys than pacman clottey. i would not mind watching this rematch or the margarito fight.
Laxone, your sentence structure does indicates how intellectual you are .hehe
Tijuana ,we’re cool man and no harm feeling .let’s keep it boxing. I guess that I found my nemesis .
you can “love boxing” and still not know too much about the sport!
Lol I think I know you by now and I know your trying to insult in a nice way haha, nice try. If it’s about boxing then don’t attack me stick to boxing, Margarito license ir no license is still boxing, I was talking about boxin, keep it like that instead of making it personal, peace!
I didn’t say that your not making sense and will never insult you because it’s boxing and not hostility .
I just said that Margarito doesn’t have his license yet and talking about him now is in away out of touch with reality .
I hope that your feeling are not hurt.you are such a smart man and you can tell if I am trying to insult directly or indirectly .
have a nice evening my friend
So where am I not being realistic again?
You think Pacquiao Vs Cotto 2 is a realistic fight? was there something in that fight that calls for a rematch? answer this one please ……..
Cotto was dominated from round 3 until the end, he went down twice and the fight was stopped by the referee.
In the other hand, after Cotto was easily winning the first half of the fight against Margarito, then Margarito turned it around and won and then we found out about the gloves and how maybe he could have had loaded gloves, doesn’t Cotto Vs Margarito 2 makes more sense than Pacquiao Vs Cotto 2?
We know Margarito does not have a license at this time, but he could probably have it back later this year, just in time for a rematch if he wins his fight in Mexico and Cotto also wins.
That is actually a fight Cotto has a better chance to win and laid to rest the ghost of Margarito who has been hunting him and will always will unless he proves he is the better man of the two.
So I’m sorry if your just like always trying to crash in the comments but the one that needs a reality check is you, I mean, even when you post twice you don’t make any sense.
This is the point of boxing Tijuana .this is the excitement of boxing .
Margarito future is still unclear and may we are not going to see him again ever . It’s better to be realistic and build fight based on reality not possibilities .
coto is a vindictive fighter and his thought about fighting Pacriod doesn’t surprise me at all .
I understand that we are all entitle to our opinions but let’s be a little bit realistic here.

As much as I respect Cotto I think he should stay far away from Pacquiao, another fight with Pacquiao is not the way to retire.
Cotto is a great champion and I still think he has something left in the tank, but there is no point in a rematch with Pacquiao and the risk is way to hi, what makes him think he can win this time, he can have an argument about the trainer but he will be playing with fire if he thinks he can do better this time.
I guess in a way it depends how Pacquiao looks against Clottey and that is why Cotto wants to see it live, if Pacquiao takes out Clottey quick and not even that quick but in a dramatic way, Cotto should really run away from even thinking about a rematch.
I think a rematch with Margarito makes more sense, and in a way is much safer now after the whole gloves issue, than fighting Pacquiao, and it would bring more attention and drama than a 2nd with Pacman.
And is good to see Cotto back and ready to roll, soon he will be in the ring, but after a bad last fight and a huge family tragedy I’m sure boxing is where he feels the best.
