Miguel Cotto announces thru his twitter page “I officially announce that my fight on December 1st at Madison Square Garden will be with undefeated WBA Super Welterweight Austin Trout.”

Austin Trout is a young unbeaten fighter who is not a fan favorite, but a southpaw who can box. With only 25 professional fights and 14 of them being by KO he will have five-inch reach advantage against Cotto. A win against Cotto – who is one of the most recognized boxers in the light-middleweight division – gives Austin the opportunity to broaden his fan base, and I’m sure motivation won’t be a problem for him.
Even Austin was surprise he was the one.
“I didn’t believe it because we’ve had a lot of talks before but never had something so tangible. I’ve been doing backflips all day. It’s defiantly a dram come true and a great opportunity to get where I need to be in this boxing game,” Austin told BoxingScene.
