Pico Park’s 3rd Annual Meet & Greet
News from the “Chatter Box” for all Mia St. John fans in the Southern California region: The popular boxer will be appearing THIS Saturday, January 26 at the Boxing Superstars–Round 3 “Meet & Greet” at Pico Park in Pico Rivera.
This will be the very first time the former WBC champ will be attending this yearly bash hosted by the City of Pico Rivera and the Department of Parks & Recreation. I spoke to the show promoters Efrain Lee and Robb Gomez this afternoon and both told me they are honored to have the champion join their third annual event held for the community. The men are proud to be able to offer free admission, free parking and a free prize raffle (for sports memorabilia and more) for all the attendees.
It’s also your chance to meet the boxing stars up close–and the opportunity to purchase signed gloves, photos, magazines and more from the “Knockout” herself, Mia St. John. All proceeds will benefit her nonprofit organization. The brunette beauty will be in good company with fellow champs Alfonso Gomez, Daniel Ponce De Leon and Giovani Segura among the many champs and prizefighters scheduled to meet the fans. Famous faces from the past and the present will be there along with the famed glove manufacturer Cleto Reyes. A FULL lineup of the boxers, city officials and special guests will be announced in my next “Chatter Box” column.
Mia says she’s looking forward to this weekend’s festivities. I’ve known the Playboy model for several years now and I’ve learned she’s not just a pretty face with a killer body. The athlete is an author, a combat sports commentator, an advocate for mental health issues and much more. St. John is a mother of two and is also the founder of her charity, El Saber es Poder.
Best known for boxing, Mia (47-12-2, 18 KOs) beat her ring nemesis Christy Martin in their August rematch and continues to train for future fights.
During a break between bouts, the bombshell enjoys supporting community events like this Saturday’s Pico Park fiesta.
“I’ll have a booth with pictures, gloves, books that will be available,” St. John confirmed to me, “and all proceeds go to my foundation!”
So fight fans, you have an opportunity to meet Mia while giving back to a worthy nonprofit foundation in her El Saber es Poder.
Be sure to come out to Pico Park to see the female superstar up close and in person!
