Pacquiao vs. Mayweather; does anyone care? There obviously still remains global interest for Mayweather and Pacquiao to get in the ring. Unfortunately, in my opinion, the window is closing slowly but surely. Personally, I don’t see the fight ever happening and frankly I am getting to where I don’t care. There are enough fighters and match-ups out there not involving these two Parker Brothers that I am tired of hearing about it. For me, they have monopolized the sport and danced around each other far too long.
Mayweather has not fought since May, when he defeated Miguel Cotto in a somewhat competitive fight and he likely won’t fight again until May of 2013. Subsequently, between Clark County jail and requiring Manny Pacquiao to put on his jock strap and wrap his hands the night of the imaginary fight…well, I think you can read between the lines from the Money Team.
I am not pointing fingers though. We might still be talking about this fight happening (or at least someone will) three years from now after Pacquiao Marquez VII takes place. Pacquiao will have replaced Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III as the President of the Philippines by then. No wait; maybe he will be the Philippines version of Billy Graham.
Whatever the case, there will always be a reason these two clowns will avoid getting in the ring with each other.
Granted, Pacquiao is agreeing to meet basically every condition Mayweather requires to make the fight happen, short of agreeing to take a fall. Then again, even that may not be out of the question in Las Vegas. My question for Pacquaio, however, is why not making these comments prior to scheduling a fourth fight with Juan Manuel Marquez? Exactly. More games from the Parker Brothers.
I am not a basher of either fighter, but I do have a sour taste in my mouth that I want to get rid of when it comes to this fight being mentioned anymore. I remember when Mike Tyson and Evander Holyfield (once upon a time) were supposed to fight in their respective primes, but circumstances put that fight off for far too long. Unfortunately, when it did happen, it just did not carry the same meaning, had it taken place when it should have. The difference is they actually wanted to fight each other. It’s unfortunate I can’t say the same for these two.
Both Mayweather and Pacquiao command the biggest fan basesin the sport. However, if the fight does not happen, those fans will still watch boxing and the sport will be just fine, as will my enjoyment for boxing. I am tired of the sideshow, so someone please shut the window. I am tired of smelling B.S.
Ok….CRAZY! I agree with M. Maestas, great article. A fan doesn’t care about politics and money. A fan doesn’t care about inside knowledge, about high stakes, elite bs, sitting back crap. A fan cares about watching “elite” boxers fight. Regardless of what info anyone has about if it will or won’t happen, the fact is the longer it takes and the more they both wash themselves out of a career, the less fans will care. But, apperantly that doesn’t matter to them, and the longer it takes the less it matters to me too, A FAN.
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm? Really? Come on buddy. You could have wasted less space and time and said the same thing in one sentence. If it happens, it happens. But, wihether you like it or not, if it does not happen in the near future preferably before they are both 40 it just won’t hold the same merit no matter what research you or anyone is talking about. Seriously though, politics, research and Bible? You got to put it down and make more sense if you are gonna reference those things. What doesn’t have politics involved. Yes we all are a bit tired of waiting .. BUT trust me as soon as this fight does take off & TRUST ME U ALL HEARD IT FROM ME 1st b/c AGAiN!! Once you all TRUELY really understand the politics of boxing U all wouldn’t even waste ur breath even getting so upset and talking about it the way u all do as though ur the 1 getting paid and when those 2 are sitting back making the big $ just off of u sitting in here talking Nd building there ratings even more 4 this fight. Hmmmm? Lol! Trust me it will happen & I just happen 2 know a little more than u all Do about the real politics of boxing… Lol! Hmmm? Once u open ur eyes all the way up my ppl & see things 4 what they TRUELY are Nd not in this fantasy world that they created 4 the population 2 think they way u all do & then & only then u all will understand how the real world works and not the way u were taught in ur schools… REMEMBER Knowledge of all things equal Power over what u were taught but more of how you taught urself after u left a school & if u did ur research on Boxing u would all know just as much as I do about it… So calm down ppl the fight will happen. it just won’t when u think it out 2 b/c u ain’t got no $ at high stakes as all the elites of the worls do or over boxing do.. Now that’s all I will say.. So go do ur own Research & history about how boxing really works behind the scenes & not the way u see it play out on Tv with all the talk from the commentators.. Lol! Hmmmmm? The Elites of the world show nuff did a good job brainwashing on the population when they 1st started their organization against the ppl.. Hmmmm?
