Filipino Congressman, Manny Pacquiao, won a resounding 12-round decision over Shane Mosley to retain his WBO welterweight title. The one-sided victory before 16,412 at the sold-out MGM Grand Garden Arena. Pacquiao won 120-108 on one scorecard, 120-107 on a second and 119-108 on the third.
Pacquiao was the aggressor throughout. Each boxer registered a knockdown; Pacquiao knocked down Mosley with a left hook in the third round, a punch that sapped Mosley’s willingness to engage. Mosley got credit for a knockdown in the 11th, but replays showed that southpaw Pacquiao went down from a push. Pacquiao ran after Mosley the rest of the fight and Mosley managed to stay away enough to finish the 12th round.
“We tried our best,’’ said Pacquiao, who is universally recognized as boxing’s No. 1 pound-for-pound boxer. “We both gave it our best effort. My legs tightened up during the fight. I couldn’t move. It’s the same thing that happened to me against (Juan Manuel) Marquez. It’s been happening to me more lately.
“Mosley is not slow. He’s fast and I had to be cautious of his counter-punch.’’
Regarding a possible fight with Floyd Mayweather, Pacman said, “For me, I don’t care about that fight. I am satisfied with everything that I have done in boxing. I want to fight because the people want the fight.’’
Mosley, who has never been knocked out and is one of the great lightweight champions of all time, had nothing but praise for Pacquiao afterward.
“You can’t blame age,’’ said Mosley, who, at 39, is seven years older than Pacquiao. “Manny is an exceptional fighter. He truly is the pound-for-pound king. He has speed and power that I have never felt before.
“It’s amazing. He’s cut from my cloth so I had to box tonight.
“He surprised me with that power, with that knockdown. That’s the most legitimate knockdown on me in a long time.’’

I would like see him fight against ORTIZ ,MARTINEZ or JMM .My personal choice is JMM.
However ,I believe that the ghost is going to fight manny may in a year or so .
Mosley froze against Mannys offence the same way he did against Floyds defence. He’d Rather finish the fight than get knocked out, But he could have definitely been more aggressive. I think mosley is finished personally speaking. Manny put on the best performance he could considering the leg cramps and shanes defensiveness. The thing that did get on my nerves about Manny is that he didnt make weight. I understand its hard for him to make 154 but there is no excuse for not making 147.
About future opponents, at this point Mayweathers punk ass is the only fight left for manny. All that Martinez talk is straight up stupid. Martinez is simply too big period. Bradly is not on pacmans level that would be a waste of time. I think the only interesting rematches would be against JMM or Miguel Cotto. Besides Margarito the human punching bag Those are the only two guys with enough heart to go at it with Manny. Ortiz, Judha, Maidana could possibly be good opponents but I think Manny would beat them all. I think JMM, Cotto, or Mayweather are the only ones with enough skill to beat Manny. Out of those three I believe Cotto is the only one with enough power to really hurt Manny. If Mayweather would grow some balls forget about that stupid drug test and take a 50/50 split we could see that fight this year. But it always seems to be to much to ask from Floyd to show a little class.
If manny wannted go toe to toe ,he should have picked JMM instead of an old man who even Manny was not able to look good against or knock him out .
You want to go toe to toe .then pick up JMM,ORTIZ or MARTINEZ

It’s a shame how many fighters talk a good fight when it comes to fighting Pacquiao but don’t let their hands talk in the ring. Mosely should give PPV buyers their money back for not fighting. That is what the fans pay to see.
I think that is what helps Pacquiao look so impressive. Of course he is super fast and has great skills. When JM Marquez fought Pacquiao he wasn’t discouraged by the knock downs. He kept coming forward and kept counter punching. Cotto was doing great for the first three rounds, but then he stopped coming after the knockdown.
Pacquiao vs Marquez III sounds intriguing but it can not be at 147 LBS. Pacquiao can make 140 LBS easily.
Of course Manny didn’t look great against Mosley because Mosley wanted to survive as I figured it was not very competitive at all and Mosley is done. Hopefully it’s a wake up call to retire for him I don’t wan’t to see him become a stepping stone. By the way Thanks Edgar that was bad ass, as I expected something different it was great to get something even better than expected. I knew that they would demand Marquez to come up to a weight where he is just too small for. No way would they want their cash cow in with the last fighter to give him fits in a fair fight. Hopefully Marquez tells them to shove it up their asses and carries on, Roach is a scumbag who will only take fights that give advantages to everyone of Pacquiao’s needs and makes the other actually competitive fighter come in at many disadvantages. I say Pacquiao should retire because it’s obvious if he’s going to fight someone it has to be someone safe enough so they can keep making money off him. Mosley could have tried harder but he didn’t want to try, he was happy just to not get knocked out just like Clottey but in the process destroyed any shred of credibility he had left.
