It seems every time you talk to a Pacquiao fan about Floyd Mayweather, the other person always gives you an excuse why he doesn’t like Mayweather. It has come down to you’re either a Mayweather or a Manny Pacquiao fan and the conversation always ends with, “I just don’t like Mayweather, he’s so cocky.” That I can’t argue, Floyd is flashy and it can be annoying but give him credit when it is due.
I am already hearing fans talking crap about how Mayweather hand picked Miguel Cotto.
I just want to be clear, I am not choosing sides but it is what it is. Before you talk crap on Mayweather think about this for a second.
Floyd Mayweather always fights fighters who win impressively.
He fought Victor Ortiz right after his spectacular fight with Andre Berto.
He fought Shane Mosley after he demolished Antonio Margarito.
He fought Juan Manuel Marquez, the only fighter who Manny Pacquiao hasn’t beaten by a large margin and fought Marquez after his fight of the year with Juan Diaz.
He fought Ricky Hatton when he was undefeated.
He fought Oscar De La Hoya at a legitimate weight.
Now he is facing Miguel Cotto, a Cotto who just won an intense and much anticipated rematch with Margarito.
Now Lets look at Manny Pacquiao.
He fought Shane Mosley after losing to Mayweather and after a draw with Sergio Mora.
He fought Antonio Margarito after Margarito lost to Mosley and after Margarito fought Roberto Garcia who is a nobody.
He fought Joshua Clottey after Clottey lost to Cotto.
He fought Ricky Hatton and Oscar De La Hoya after Mayweather beat them both.
Do you see the pattern here? Now you tell me who’s picking their opponents?
Floyd Mayweather, who is fighting fighters who are coming off of amazing wins, or Manny Pacquiao who is fighting fighters who are coming off losses?
Now word is that Miguel Cotto agrees to a 65/35 split in favor of Mayweather and he also agrees to a blood test with out hesitation. Cotto has been guaranteed $30 Million which is more than what Manny Pacquiao has ever made. Meanwhile Pacquiao will fight Tim Bradley on June 9th for an approximately 5-8 Million. On paper Pacquiao is an idiot.
I am not saying Pacquiao is not a good fighter but when you compare him to an undefeated star like Mayweather, who also has higher PPV records than Pacquiao, there is no comparison.
The truth is that Floyd wanted to fight Cotto when he was just coming up, but of course before his prime. Floyd didn’t want anything to do with Cotto in his prime, but now that Cotto is the third biggest ppv attraction and past his prime Floyd is more than willing to take the fight. If he didn’t take this fight he would simply make himself look bad by taking another fight with an old fart or another young dumb guy. Floyd is an artful bullet dodger.
Some people just dont realize that Mayweather is human they yust look at him and see god, in the history of boxing exist a lot of great fighters they make history and one day averything change !!!!! Nothing last for ever some people don’t realize that Cotto already beaten fast figthers and bigger fighters both are warriors, in the press conference he said ” cotto doesn’t have to wory about me running I will stand and fight in front of him” and every body know that mayweather just have 1 fight in 154 with Oscar and doesn’t shine like he always did, Cotto is getting better in 154 he look great againt The last 3 let give him the credit and the oportunity and remember hi’s figthing the one Paquiau is running !!!!!
I don’t understand how anyone can say Floyd was ducking cotto when now the fight happens when cotto is fresh off of his top rank contract. Y’all can’t use that one anymore. It’s clear he ain’t duck him. Why would he duck a less experienced cotto but not duck a veteran cotto? Y’all act like Floyd is some immortal boxer who doesnt get older like everyone else. Y’all really gotta stop being biased and look at the facts. Floyd will only fight u if u can make him money. If u have no fans or no impressive performance,u get no fight. Plain and simple. So now why does Floyd want to fight PAC so bad now… Cuz manny is now very popular and Floyd can profit off of that. People say Floyd is cocky bit then say he scared of people. And now that peeps think manny is the best, u will have to admit Floyd is the best after he beats him.
Now let’s see if Floyd will beat Miguel, since Cotto was defeated by Pacman.
Anyway, win or loss Floyd will go to jail.
whatever your comment is, it means nothing cuz pacquiao has won in the said opponents you enumerated in a better fashion and in a shorter time than how your mayweather performed.

I’m not impressed with the facts in this article because there are way to many other facts that are not mentioned, there are two sides to every coin. Now I’m not defending Manny but to try and glorify Mayweathers semi impressive victories over the same opponents Manny demolished except for JMM of course is pretty lame. The only win in which Mayweather looked better than Manny was JMM and remember he never fought at that weight before, and Floyd came in heavy on top of that. Not saying that otherwise JMM could’ve beat him but its a fact. Floyd never fought three guys on that list: Margarito (avoided), Clottey, and untill now Cotto (avoided). The fact that Manny fought Delahoya, Mosely, and Hatton after Floyd doesnt mean much at all. Its not like Floyd detroyed them or anything, though his KO of Hatton was a nice one it wasnt even close to the way Manny turned his lights out. Even Mannys light weight record is more impressive than Floyds. The Victor Ortiz fight was a joke and pointless to even mention. I’m not saying anyone of them can beat the other, I’m just saying that if we’re going into facts then lets talk about more than just the same lame facts that Floyd himself tries to display as being worthy of Lordship(Plz)lol. A champions Caliber is determined by the quality of fighters he has beaten so if all this talk about Mayweathers opponents being so bad is true then there isnt much you can say about Mayweather as a champion then is there?
Here’s some facts for everyone and they says alot. Cotto is the most dangerous fight Floyd has ever taken, but not too long ago everyone was talking about how Cotto was damaged goods and should retire. Now that he beat Margos ass he’s the best opponent other than Pac to fight Floyd. Kind of ironic isn’t it? Floyds a great fighter yes but he hasn’t accomplished anything greater than Pacquiao or Cotto.
I agree with this article, Mayweather’s opponents at the time he fought them were looking good before he fought them, meanwhile Pacquiao’s choices were coming off defeat. I certainly do like Mayweather’s next fight more than Pacquiao’s but both fighters are expected to and will their upcoming fights.

In Mannys defense, he was a little guy moving up fighting guys we all thought he had no business fighting and he destroyed all of them!
