Rumor is that Marquez has agreed to face Morales on April 09 in Las Vegas, but Marquez will not put his belts on the line. The WBC Diamond championship will likely be at stake. “The fight is a go,” said Morales. “He realized that he had no other option.” Morales is now training in his native Tijuana and soon plans to move to the mountain of the Otomi Ceremonial Center where he has trained for many of his big fights. He will be accompanied by his father and trainer Jose “Olivaritos” Morales and fitness trainer Raúl Robles.

Cunningham reschedule for Feb 12

Steve Cunningham’s postponed his mandatory defense against Enad Licina and rescheduled Wednesday for Feb. 12 in Mülheim, Germany, promoter Sauerland Event announced. Cunningham was already in Germany when the fight was postponed, but returned to Philadelphia to continue training.

Also on the undercard is former middleweight titlist Arthur Abraham’s tune-up fight before his Super Six World Boxing Classic semifinal match in May against titleholder Andre Ward.

Update On Floyd Mayweather Jr.

Floyd Mayweather Jr. trial has been postponed to March 10. Las Vegas Justice of the Peace Melissa Saragosa agreed to the postponement after Mayweather’s lawyer, Karen Winckler, sought time to allow her law partner, Richard Wright, to also take part.

Mayweather is accused of hitting and threatening his ex-girlfriend, Josie Harris, stealing her cell phone and threatening two of their children during an argument at the woman’s home last September.

Since his arrest in that case, Mayweather also spent a night in the county jail on a misdemeanor battery charge stemming from an allegation that he poked a homeowner association security guard in the face during an argument about parking outside Mayweather’s home.

The Southern Highlands Estates homeowner association filed for a court injunction against Mayweather last month, complaining to a judge that he failed to follow rules and threatened employees. It seeks $10,000 in damages. That case is pending.

  1. Klitschko-Solis is going to be a great fight. I am so glad that Epix is going to air the fight. Not good for the companies like Comcast who don’t carry the channel. Working at DISH Network and having their service I am happy, because I get to watch it in HD. I think Klitschko will keep his title and defeat Solis. I have no worries about that.
