Gamboa vs Solis Update

Yuriorkis Gamboa and Jorge Solis will head to the Adrian Philips Ballroom at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City on March 26. Rumor is that Glen Tapia will be part of the undercard. An opponent has not been announced. It will be televised on HBO.

Roy Jones Jr. will be teamed with HBO veterans Bob Papa and Max Kellerman on BOXING AFTER DARK. Jones Jr. returns to HBO on Feb. 19 for the season premiere of BOXING AFTER DARK as bantamweight stars Fernando Montiel and Nonito Donaire collide in the main event (9:45 p.m. ET/PT). He will join Papa and Kellerman at ringside in Las Vegas along with unofficial scorer Harold Lederman.

Jason Litzau vs Ponce de Leon

Featherweight contender Jason Litzau (28-2, 21 KOs) has announced that he has accepted an offer to fight Daniel Ponce de Leon (41-2, 34 KOs) on the undercard of the Juan Manuel Marquez-Erik Morales PPV on April 9 but Rumor is Juan Manuel Marquez doesn’t want to fight Erik Morales this rumor started yesterday afternoon in a meeting with Golden Boy Promotions. Golden Boy has an April 9 date in Las Vegas locked in for Marquez but right now is not 100% it will be against Morales.

Fight Night is Back

Golden Boy Promotions has announced that the third season of “Fight Night Club” will kick off at L.A. LIVE’s Club Nokia on February 24. The season premiere’s main event pits fellow junior welterweight prospects Jessie Vargas (13-0, 7 KOs) and Lanard Lane (12-1, 7 KOs). The series will return to L.A. LIVE’s Club Nokia on April 28, May 26, June 23, August 25, October 27 and November 18 and be broadcast on Fox Sports Net (FSN) and its regional sports network affiliates (check local listings).

Charles Huerta vs Raul Hirales

The Four Points Sheraton in San Diego will open its doors once again for TeleFutura’s “Sólo Boxeo” on January 28. The main event will be an exciting clash of junior featherweight prospects with Charles Huerta (16-1, 8 KOs) meeting up with unbeaten Raul Hirales Jr. (11-0-1, 7 KOs) in an eight round main event. In the co-main event, undefeated featherweight phenom Gary Russell Jr. (13-0, 9 KOs) makes his 2011 debut against an opponent to be named in another eight rounder.
