IBF/WBA/WBO/IBO World Heavyweight Champion Wladimir Klitschko and challenger Francesco Pianeta participated yesterday at a press conference at SAP Arena in Mannheim, Germany to announce their upcoming fight on May 4.

Pianeta already has some experience in the ring with the champion, having helped Klitschko prepare for his defense against Tony Thompson last year. The WBA #12/WBO #9 contender boldly proclaimed “I am going to bust Wladimir’s ass.”

On the other hand Wlad praised Pianeta saying “I have a huge respect for a man who has defeated cancer. Cancer is harder than any world champion.”

The heavyweight title elimination fight between Cristobal Arreola and Bermane Stiverne — the winner of which will get a mandatory shot at titleholder Vitali Klitschko — has been rescheduled for April 27. The fight was supposed to take place Saturday night at The Hangar at the Orange County Fairgrounds & Event Center in Costa Mesa, Calif. But Arreola came down with bronchitis late last month, and the fight was postponed.
