Looks like WBC/WBO middleweight champion Kelly Pavlik will return against ex-WBC super welterweight champion Sergio Mora on a pay-per-view card this summer.
Nothing is finalized, but word is it will be another Top Rank-produced split-site event with Pavlik’s portion taking place in Altantic City and other fights taking place in Mexico rumors are that it might be the return of Antonio Margarito. Stay tune for more info.
What a minute !!
This non-competitive fight is actually scheduled for pay-per-view !!
PLEASE, anyone, DON’T BE SUCKERED INTO PAYING PAY FOR VIEW, for this mismatch.
In general, the bigger the names, the worse their fights are. IT is the marketing machines that create them.
Please I hate to say it, the total ignorance of the American sports press and their refusal to give coverage to the best fighters around, where the overwhelm majority are NOT from the U.S. There is ONLY press for American fighters.
For example, by FAR the best super-middleweight in the world, whose only loss was in a magnificent fight against the recently retired legend, Joe Calzaghe.
You wouldn’t dare hear Bernard Hopkins, Antonio (I have been finished for years), Tarver, Kelly Pavlik, the over-rated Jermaine Taylor going near this guy, who deserves to be in the forefront. He would destroy any of the U.S. pretenders.
I can only hope and pray that Ocar De La Chocka never, ever enters the rink again and he can take his buddy “Money” Meriwether with him.
Anyone see the great lightweight championship with Juan Manuel Márquez !!
Why doesn’t Abrahams get a fight a light heavyweight that makes some money. He is not from the U.S., that is why !!
Jon
