A new jewel joins HG Boxing’s crown as President Hector Garcia is proud to announce that WBO bantamweight champion Kaliesha “Wild Wild” West (13-1-3, 4KOs) has joined the ranks of his illustrious company. West of Moreno Valley, CA, is ready to prove that beauty and talent can go hand in hand and is ready to defend her crown against the best that Mexico has to offer. She will make her debut with HG Boxing on August 20th in the semi main event where former champion Juan Carlos Salgado will go after the IBF super featherweight title versus Dominican Argenis Mendez.
At fourteen, West was crowned National Golden Gloves champion and after amassing a 98-10 amateur record with a number of accolades, turned pro at 18 defeating former British Olympian Suszanah Warner with a unanimous decision over four rounds.
After stringing ten consecutive wins, the opportunity for a regional title came versus Ava Knight who handed West her first loss in 2008. On the undercard of Sergio Mora versus Shane Mosley in Los Angeles, CA, West captured the WBO title by stopping Ana Gladney in seven rounds. In her first title defense last month, West faced Ava Knight once again walking away with the WBO strap around her waist after battling to a draw.
