Julio Cesar Chavez celebrated his 49th birthday on Tuesday, July 12 in Culiacán, Sinaloa, Mexico.
Among those on hand were his mother Doña Isabel and his children Julio Cesar Jr., Omar, Chris and Nicole, as well as other relatives.
World champion Julio Cesar Chavez, a national hero in his native country of Mexico, has gone thru a lot. Chavez Sr. who once lived in a railroad car has become one of the greatest boxers of all time winning 88 straight fights—a 6 time world champion winning titles in 3 weight divisions and recently inducted in the Boxing Hall of Fame.
Son of the ledged, Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., who just won the WBC Middleweight Championship will make his first defense on November 19 on HBO against Peter Manfredo (37-6, 20 KOs), the former “Contender” star and former super middleweight title challenger who is riding a six-fight winning streak.

Thank you Chavez for all the great years. I’m glad he went to rehab for his troubles. He seems to be a better boxing analyst for TV Azteca. Good luck to him in the future.
