“JuanMa” Lopez Wants the Big Names!

Juan Manuel “JuanMa” Lopez wrapped a world title in a second division this past Saturday night after stopping former WBO featherweight champion Steven Luevano in the seventh round. The official time was :44 seconds of the round.

Lopez remained undefeated with 28 wins and 25 of them by knockout while Luevano dropped to 37-2-1, 15KO.

Now Lopez states that he wants to go after bigger names in the 126 lbs. division.

“We knew that it was going to be a tough fight but we were able to do our job and reach my dream of being a champion for the second time,” Lopez stated. Lopez vacated his super bantamweight WBO title which he captured by knocking out Daniel Ponce de Leon in one round. “Now we will wait to see what comes. I want to fight with the big names, either Israel Vazquez or Rafael Marquez but I will leave that to my promoter, Top Rank.”
