Juan Manuel Marquez and Rafael Marquez to Fight in the Same Night

In the VIP room of Cinemex Antara in Polanco, Mexico City, Mexican stars Juan Manuel and Rafael Marquez, accompanied by their trainers Nacho Beristain and Daniel Zaragoza, respectively, made the official announcement of their return to the squared circle on July 16 in the Plaza de Toros in Cancun, Quintana Roo.

WBA/WBO lightweight champion Juan Manuel (52-1, 38 KOs) will face Likar Ramos (24-3, 18 KOs), Juan Manuel is preparing for his November 12 clash with WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao, HBO and Showtime sports are currently bidding to have rights to air the pay-per-view fight. Top Rank promoter Bob Arum has received HBO’s proposal for the Manny Pacquiao-Juan Manuel Marquez III and is reviewing it, although he said he was very pleased with it his waiting on the final proposal from Showtime.

Juan Manuel younger brother Rafael Marquez (39-6, 35 KOs), will also appear on the card in a 10-round featherweight co-featured fight against an opponent to be determined. If Rafael is success in his tune up fight he will take on the WBC super bantamweight champion Toshiaki Nishioka.

Roman Gonzalez (28-0, 23 KOs) will also be part of July 16 card and will defend against Omar Salado (22-3-2, 13 KOs).
