Martinez-Williams Not a Done Deal yet!

Although HBO announced the long discussed Sergio Martinez-Paul Williams rematch during Saturday night’s “Boxing After Dark” telecast, the fight remains unsigned and no venue has been determined, Lou DiBella, Martinez’s promoter, told ESPN.com. DiBella said he felt the fight would get done and he has Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, N.J., on hold for the Nov. 20 rematch, although it’s not a lock as the host.

“I’ve felt we have had a deal for a month, but for whatever reason the Williams side has not signed off yet,” DiBella said. “I believe they will. More important, HBO believes they will, so they announced the fight. I was surprised when I saw it.”

Why hasn’t Williams sign yet? I think his going to back out just like Kelly Pavlik did with the rematch clause.

  1. LMAO I dont know if your talking about me or the article, but I was looking at that when I made my comment. Lol I saw it just as I hit the submit comment. Good looking out Jesus lol but its just a typeo. Bye the way I agree that williams underestimated Martinez in that first fight. Thats why he almost got knocked out.

  2. I think Williams and his camp underestimated Martinez the first time around. Everyone was caught up in the hype that nobody wants to fight Williams. Martinez showed him he is as beatable as the next guy.

Lets not call Williams a coward just yet. The decision does not rest 100% on his shoulders. Ans it’s “clause” not “claws” LMAO !!

  3. If it gets done it’s gonna be another good one, I personally am rooting for Martinez to win. I like both of these guys but I like Martinez style better.
