We’re just a few days away from the long-awaited world championship rematch between three-division world champion Miguel Cotto and three-time welterweight world champion Antonio “The Tijuana Tornado” Margarito and you have to decide in forking out your hard earned money.

With a price tag of $54.99 and additional $10 for HD, this HBO Pay-per-view is not cheap considering you still have to pay your cable bill.

On Saturday’s Cotto-Margarito II undercard in Madison Square Garden, Pawel Wolak (29-1-1, 19 KOs) will take on Delvin Rodriguez (25-5-3, 14 KOs) in a highly anticipated rematch. Their brutal draw earlier this year makes it a legitimately exciting undercard bout.

WBA lightweight champion Bradon Rios will meet Manchester, England native John Murray. Murray (31-1, 18 KO) is a good fighter but I don’t think he holds a chance against the hard hitting Rios. Rios at 25-years-old (28-0-1, 21 KOs) has been on fire with 11 wins in a row since his only blemish, a draw.

Also on the same night but their full fights will not be televised, Mike Lee and Mike Jones are scheduled to fight. HBO will pass the highlights between fights.

Overall I am not impressed with the undercard but the cheating allegations and health issues in the whole Cotto-Margarito drama is what sold me.

What’s your opinion on the undercard?

  1. If you read the attached link to how not-to-wrap your hands you will see that Margarito was surely lying about his dirty wraps.

    Video here.

You can also search Joseph de la Guevara on you tube and it will lead you to the video.

  2. I think this undercard is well put together certainly for a Top Rank card, I think Rodriguez/Wolak 2 deserves to be here for sure and will resemble the first fight. Rios\Murray, when does Bam-Bam actually bore us? Lujan/Jones, I thought was to be televised as well either way not the strongest fight on the card but would be a good opening bout as I think Lujan surprises us here. I think Top Rank is actually giving us a night to look forward to from Wolak/Rodriguez 2 to the main event. Personally looking forward to each fight and to be honest I’d rather see any of these fights on PPV versus Bradley/Casamayor getting a PPV slot.
