When the Manny Pacquiao vs Antonio Margarito fight was officially announced, you could have asked anyone, including the media, and without hesitation and before you could finish your question they will say “Pacquaio will win”. Now you ask the same people and they will start with “Well…” and they will start giving you excuses before their prediction.
When Juan Manuel Marquez lost to Floyd Mayweather, everyone including their mom’s, will not give credit to Mayweather Jr. They would say Floyd was too big, to fast and that he was supposed to win. I think the same is going to happen next week when Margarito takes on Manny Pacquiao.
Assuming Margarito wins, are you going to say he was too big, too tall and too strong or that it wasn’t Pacquiao’s weight oh wait… he had too many distractions? I mean what excuse are you going to say?
When Mayweather beat Marquez, I gave the proper credit. Marquez is no bum, Mayweather won fair and square. If Marquez felt he was too small to fight then maybe he shouldn’t have accepted the fight in the first place.
All I am saying is if Margartito wins, give him the proper credit he deserves.
We all know Marquez fought Mayweather for the MONEY !! He KNEW deep in his heart that he couldn’t beat Mayweather.
Part of the reason for fighting Pacquiao is for the money. Win,lose, or draw, you get paid !! If you look good, you may even get a rematch.
Many people believe that you are as good as you last fight. Many people believe that Margarito has no chance because he lost badly to Mosely and looked “OK” in his last fight.
By comparison, Barrera lost to both Pacquiao and Jr Jones and still managed to have on the of the best trilogys in boxing history against Morales. It is possible to look less than great and still look good in future fights.
That’s just my opinion.
Off course Margarito has a chance. That is why they are having the fight. They are getting paid real well to fight as well. I think Pac should win because he is to fast. He is not 100%. Should be interesting since marg is a lot bigger and throws lots of punches. But if you can not land them it is no good. Both come to fight and it should be a good one for the fans.
All very valid points indeed 🙂 and if you see my post, you’ll notice that at first I called him a “B” fighter… and the reason I diminished him down to C, is simply because despite his 28-3 record, the only opponent he’s faced with a decent record is Freddy Hernandez (who fights Berto this month)… that fight ended in a NC. But overall, u r right. He’s PROBABLY not a C fighter, but i just think he needs a few wins, over a few B fighters on his resume. A win over Margo could have done it. Even had he made it competitive, that would have been cool, but he got OWNED. 99-89 | 100-88 | 99-90
You gotta be very generous to call him a B fighter. But, at the end of the day, it all comes down to your personal opinion. To me, he’s a C+. On the verge of becoming a B. So, he may very well be a B; but personally, I am not convinced. at least not yet.

Yeah garcia wasnt popular but that dont make him a C fighter. Remember they fought at 154 we all know margarito has problems at that weight even before he fought mosley… But the good thing that nobody says happend in that fight was that he’s trying to box now and has more head movement than before but at the same time hes keeping his signature mark thats throwing alot of punches..
Everybody thinks this fight its going to be like the cotto fight with marg going forward and receiving punches.. the difference is that he has a new trainer. I think margarito is going to box pacquiao the first rounds jabbing and moving around the ring and hell brawl pacquiao the later rounds..

Lookinh stronger than margarito.. Hes not popular but that dont make him a C fighter.
In about 6 days will find out, but I think Margarito has a chance to win.

I ask myself, “self, if Margarito trades blows with Pacman, who would get
the better end of the exchange?”
Self says: Pacman. he’s just too fast all around. He’s hands are too fast and his movement is just amazing. he jumps in and out at crazy speeds, and also delivers blows from all kinds of different angles.
Pacman vs Mosley would have been cool.
Of course, i am going to watch this, but do any of you all feel Margarito stands a chance? a punchers chance even? (he doesn’t have bricks in his hands

So, right now… i am not even sure Margarito is a puncher. He got owned by Mosley, then on his last fight, he couldnt look impressive against a B fighter (heck, his opponent was more of a C fighter, and he couldn’t do anything remotely similar to what he did to Cotto that night)
BTW, this is all just my OPINION.

Id rather see Marquez have another go at him, cuz i know Marquez stands a chance, at least I think. With Margo, i just cant see him wining.
So yes, if Margo wins, I am going to be really REALLY SHOCKED (i will shit my pants sorta speak).
Overall, I love boxing, and I’m just hoping that, no matter the outcome, we all get to see a good competitive fight.
