I am not here to give excuses

In one of the year’s biggest fights, the question was, could the great little man in Marquez deal with a great bigger man?

Mayweather was the bigger man – something that caused mild controversy when Mayweather weighed 146 to Marquez’s 142. The night of the fight, the weight difference was more noticeable. The 37-year-old Marquez fought gamely but at times, his reflexes appeared slow compared to the talented larger man.

I am not here to give excuses, Mayweather won fair and square. Marquez knew Mayweather was the bigger man and by him stepping in the ring, he accepted the challenge. Marquez, though, looked like he didn’t belong in the same ring with Mayweather, who won by scores of 120-107, 119-108 and 118-109. His dominance was such that Marquez connected on an absurdly low 12 percent of his punches (just 69 of 583) and landed but 21 jabs in a 12-round fight.

If Marquez would have fought anyone else, my money would have been on Marquez but because I knew Floyd Mayweather Jr. was too big, too fast, too smart and too strong for Juan Manuel Marquez, I betted on Floyd to win, but deep down I was rooting for Marquez.

In the second round, Mayweather landed a lead left hook that dropped Marquez. At this point I’m crying like a bitch, making promises to God that I will never be able to keep (like I will never masturbate again). I didn’t want to see Marquez lose in such a way, but luckily, Mayweather couldn’t finish him off.

He was also extraordinarily gracious and shook his head at the hard shots Marquez was able to take. On Saturday, Floyd Mayweather reestablished himself as the best in the world. Until he’s challenged, he’ll carry the title of world’s best boxer and no I do not want to see Mayweather vs. Shane Mosley I will rather see Mayweather vs. Manny Pacquiao what’s your opinion?
