Giovani Segura Wins Again

In a rematch, WBO light flyweight champion Giovanni Segura (27-1-1, 23 KOs) again defeated former champion Ivan Calderon (34-2-1, 6 KOs) on Saturday night at the Auditorio del Estado in Mexicali, Mexico. Segura stopped Calderon in only three rounds with a big body shot. Giovani Segura proved his knockout victory over Ivan Calderon last August was no fluke the official time was 1:39.

WBC International flyweight belt holder Edgar Sosa (41-6, 24 KOs) scored an eighth round TKO over Kenichi Horikawa (20-10-1, 4 KOs) on Saturday night at the Arena Mexico in Mexico City. Sosa will next challenge champion Pongsaklek Wongjongkam. Watch how the fight was stopped.

    I live near the Mexican border so I dust off my rabbit ears and watch the PPV fights for free on the Mexican channels. I even get in HD. I haven’t paid for a fight in years.

  2. Good victory for Segura. Hopefully we’ll see him again soon.
    I think Horikawa should have been allowed to continue. Nonetheless great win for Sosa. Hopefully he can get another match vs Rodel Mayol.

  3. Good for Segura, now hopefully he moves up he shouldn’t keep draining himself to make weight and move up so he can be more comfortable.
