Carl Froch vs. George Groves is just one of the many fights that we will see in 2014 but hopefully it will be one that sticks in the memory. There have been some pretty memorable dust ups already in 2014, so it isn’t going to be an easy feat.
The most talked about fight this year belongs to Solange Knowles who unloaded on her brother-in-law, Jay Z, in a New York elevator.
Rap star T.I. had some serious guts when he swung for pound-for-pound boxing champ Floyd Mayweather, he missed and the fight turned into a table throwing contest between the two, and their extended entourage. And you can’t forget Kanye, who has once again been pushing paparazzi over.
Politicians are also getting in on the act. Ukrainian MPs turned Parliament into a brawl-for-all, Nigel Farage took a hard egg to the chin while TV shows in Jordan and India have also descended into chaos.
Hot-headed Alan Pardew may well have become the first ever manager to headbutt an opponent, so to cricketer Kieron Pollard, who maybe the first player to ever attempt to chuck his bat at the opposing bowler.
Other notable scuffles include Shia LaBeouf, the Real Housewives of Atlanta and a bride taking on her bridesmaid mid-way through a flight from Manchester to Barcelona.
As long as Froch and Groves draw inspiration from the fights that have occurred before them , then we should be in for a classic.
