Photos From Floyd Mayweather vs. Shane Mosley & Undercard

On Saturday night Floyd “Money” Mayweather showed why he is the greatest boxer of all time. Many criticized Floyd for not fighting natural welterweights but with Mosley, his toughest test to date, he showed he could fight anyone at any weight.

In front of 15,117 at the MGM Grand Garden in Las Vegas, NV and millions watching around the world, Floyd said after the fight “If Manny Pacquaio wants to fight, it is not hard to find me. We were going to make the fight a couple of months back but it didn’t happen. I take my hat off to Mosley. He had problems in the past but he’s a warrior. He took the blood and urine tests. I just want everyone to be on an even playing field. If every athlete is clean in the sport of boxing, take the test. If Manny Pacquaio takes the blood and urine tests, we can fight. If he doesn’t, we won’t make the fight.”

With that being said, I don’t think Mayweather is ducking anyone. Both Floyd and Mosley did the Olympic drug testing and I did not see Floyd weaker as Manny Pacquiao claims it will happen to him.

During the post fight press conferance, many questioned Floyd if the Pacquiao fight doesn’t happen who’s next. To my surprise Team Mayweather suggested of moving up to 160-pounds to fight WBC/WBO middleweight champion Sergio Martinez. The Argentinean is an equally crafty fighter who is coming off an excellent performance against Kelly Pavlik.

“It’s possible,” Mayweather said, surprising everyone that he would even consider a move to middleweight. “As of right now I just want to spend some time with my family.”

In the co-main event, welterweight sensation Saul “Canelo” Alvarez made his point across that one day he will become a world champion, after stopping Miguel Cotto’s older brother, Jose Miguel Cotto in the ninth round of a scheduled 10-round bout.

The 19-year-old from Guadalajara, Jalisco is on the right path and is definitely gaining the respect of the Mexican fans with his aggressive style.

  1. Man, Floyd should learn a thing or two with last weekend fight, HE DOESN”T NEED TO ALWAYS RUN, I’ve always thought he has tremendous skills and he proved last weekend the has the speed and skills to get out of harms ways, he can stand and trade and still move away without jumping on the bicycle, he is scared of loosing his undefeated record, but I think he could really put on a much better show than he has done so far.

With that said, the fight to make is Mayweather Pacquiao, screw every other fight, I think Mayweather will walk through everyone at the current weight with what he displayed last weekend, to fast, to sharp and to skillful, the fight to make and the fight to cement his legacy and all his trash talk over all this years is Pacquiao, there is no other fight to make, if he wins that one he can retire and say he was the best of this era even after avoiding difficult fights for many years.
That would be now an even bigger fight after what he did to Mosley, he has what it takes to beat Pacquiao steroids or no steroids, cut the crap and let’s make the fight and see who’s the best.

By the way, for the ones who still say that Pacquiao needs to take the “Mayweather’s test” to prove his clean just like Mosley did that is totally wrong, Mosley had testified to had taken steroids, Pacquiao has never been linked or tested positive for steroids ever before, speculation started from Mayweather Sr. it self, only when a fight with his son was looking closer and closer, there has never been any proof or reason to believe he is on steroids, and I’m sorry but being successful is not one, I hate BS and Mayweather should shut his mouth about cleaning the sport, he only cares about him not the sport, he has taken pain killer injections to be able to compete in a fight and now talks about cleaning the sport, clean your closet first then come clean the sport.

  2. No jesus……Mayweather would meet Martinez at 154 and beat him up.
And don’t forget he beat Dela hoya at 154 so he’s been there
    before

  3. Martinez gave Paul Williams and Kelly Pavlik all they could handle and more. I don’t see Mayweather coming up to 154 lbs to fight him. I don’t see Martinez coming down to 147 to fight Mayweather.

  4. Floyd would walk through Sergio Martinzes,
Martinez Like to ride his bike and run but the funny thing is he gets away with it. right place at the right time that only it for him. He got lucky with Kelly Pavlik. Pavlik should have cut the ring off and the movement was giving him problems.

I’m sorry too say this, actually I’m not. Martinez cannot box’s period.
    too much running.
