Floyd Mayweather may be approaching the beginning of the slippery slope. Given there is not a lot of fan interest in any particular opponents for him, whomever that next opponent ends up being may be the most dangerous. Floyd is getting older, and has admitted he is at the end of his career with only one or two fights left.

I can’t imagine that it is easy for the near billionaire, approaching 40 years old; to continue to train at the level he has for close to thirty years dating back to when he was a child. Other than him possibly achieving the remarkable record of 50-0, and surpassing the late Rocky Marciano, what else is there for him to achieve or be motivated for in the ring? That said, I am not sure how motivating the number 50 is for him at this time in his career. Maybe the fact he can earn near a billion dollars in the ring for his career if he has two more notable fights is most motivating for Money Mayweather.

It’s not that Floyd needs the money, although it will be interesting to see if he ends up like many of the infamous fighters of legend’s past who have ended up broke, bankrupt, strung out on alcohol and drugs, or dead. Only time will tell, but many of you out there are hanging on the preference that someone beats one of the best fighters in boxing history before he hangs them up. It ain’t goanna happen. He is too meticulous and professional with how he approaches his craft. That said, he will find the motivation to fight at the top level, and he will make a few hundred million dollars more in the ring no matter who he fights. He will finish 50-0 and he will be a billionaire when it is all said and done. Subsequently, he will be considered one of the best, if not the best, boxer in history.

Is he TBE? It will always be up for debate, but he is definitely in the conversation, whether you like him or not. It is so remarkable that for an athlete who is so unappealing to so many people, both inside and outside of the ring, that he has reached the business tycoon status and unbelievable wealth that he has. Love him or hate him, Floyd is an ICON of our generation in sports.
