Mexican legend Erik Morales, who came out of retirement to face Jose Alfaro earlier this year, is now taking on Scotland’s Willie Limond. Limond, who nearly beat Amir Khan several years ago, is flying to Mexico City, MX, on September 11, 2010, to face “El Terrible”.
Limond, (33-2, 8KOs) gained some respect when he was able to send Amir Khan to the canvas in their 2007 bout. Morales at age 33 was absent for 2 ½ years before wining a unanimous decision over Jose Alfaro.
Erik Morales will always be remembered to be the last man to defeat the current pound for pound idol Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao. Unfortunately for Morales, it was also the last win of his career before retiring in 2007 following his defeat at the hands of former WBC Lightweight champion David “Dangerous” Diaz.
Morales continues his quest to be able to cement his legacy as the first Mexican fighter to win titles in four weight divisions.

Just like Barrera, I don’t see Morales winning a major title at 135 or 140 lbs against any of the current champions.
