Before the Timothy Bradley vs. Nate Campbell fight last week Jimmy Lennon Jr. announced some well known faces who attended the fight such as heavyweight contender Chris Arreola, super welterweight champion Cory Spinks, super welterweight contender Alfredo Angulo, super lightweight Josesito Lopez, former world champion Erik Morales, former contender Steve Quinones, and Hall of Fame catcher Johnny Bench.
Being a huge fan of Erik Morales, my 007 James Bond instincts kicked in and I began my mission by looking for him. I have met a lot of boxers but one I haven’t met is my all time favorite “El Terrible” so I was determine to find him but it turns out he wasn’t there or maybe he was to fat for people to recognize him. Bottom line, I didn’t get to meet him.
My mission is not over yet as Erik Morales began his training for his upcoming fight.
“This Tuesday I started my training to get back in shape,” Morales told Frontera.info “I will continue my training in the high altitude mountains of Temoaya, Mexico. I need to be in my best shape ever I don’t want to disrespect my loyal fans that have always supported me.”
No Mexican boxer has yet succeeded in winning world titles at four different weights and that is why Morales has decided to come out of retirement. As for now I will wait patiently for the press conference to come to Los Angeles which will be my opportunity to snap a picture with one of the greatest fighters in the world so stay tuned….
