Last Saturday HBO aired the first episode of 24/7 Mayweather-Ortiz (if you missed it watch it here) and though 24/7 is about the fighters people can’t stop talking about how Floyd Mayweather was verbally attacking his father and former trainer.

The near-violent argument between father and son was not scripted, this was as real as it gets. If it wasn’t for the body guards holding them back, I think they would have thrown blows but I can’t imagine myself, kicking my father out of my gym while calling him a bum and dropping F-you bombs, at one point calling him a faggot.

HBO did an awesome job showing what each fighter goes thru everyday and the drama that surrounds them. Ortiz talked about how he was abandoned by his mother and father at an early age. Ortiz’s trainer, Danny Garcia is brother of Robert Garcia who currently trains Brandon Rios and Antonio Margarito just to name a few. Danny talked about how his brother and father don’t speak to him after he decided to train Ortiz after Robert no longer wanted to train him.

I can’t wait to see what else 24/7 has to unfold. If you haven’t watched the first episode, I highly recommend it as it builds up towards their September 17 PPV fight.

What’s your opinion on the first episode?
