David Haye has knocked out Dereck Chisora in the fifth round of their all-British heavyweight grudge fight at Upton Park.
Five months after they brawled in Munich at a news conference, Haye put Chisora down for good with a left hook.
No world titles were at stake in the scheduled 10-rounder, which was sanctioned by the Luxembourg federation because the British Boxing Board of Control wouldn’t license either fighter after their recent behavior.
“I’d be very surprised if Vitali Klitschko would want to fight me now after seeing the performance I put on tonight,” said Haye after the fight. “I guarantee he’s going to fight some chump no one’s ever heard of and then try and retire and become a politician or something, but if he wants to give the world a great fight — I’m here!”
Chisora shouldn’t get any more opportunities after losing 4 of his last 5.
