Twenty-four wins. Twenty-two by knockout. One loss. Fantastic shape and a popular, proud fighter. This sounds like the recipe of a star. It has been, until now. A star indeed, but is this star a promising fighter of the future?

This man is David Haye. Formerly known for his incredibly impressive reign as a cruiserweight and the qualities of a future great has been better known for his recent infamous bark towards the Klitschko Brothers without the bite. Haye should be admired for his dominant performance as a 200 pound champion. Nothing can take that away from him. Like many, Haye chose to move up in weight and look for a heavyweight championship. He became a heavyweight threat once he decided to fight over two hundred pounds. In his second fight over two hundred pounds, Haye won the WBA Heavyweight Championship from Nikolai Valuev.

Now a heavyweight champion, Haye has verbally thrown every Hayemaker at the Klitschkos to get them in the ring. A Haye-Klitschko showdown would be an incredible fight. It is HBO worthy and a huge draw anywhere in Europe.

Fans have heard the bark and seen the surrounding antics of David Haye as he has called out each Klitschko brother. This has happened several times. A fight was even in place. Haye pulled out.

The Klitschkos have been more than willing to fight Haye. They have gone beyond and above where the number 1 and number 2 heavyweights in the world should go. Haye had could have fought the fight he called for with an outstanding deal.

Yet, Haye has pulled out or become silent every time the fight he called for comes. Not once, but several times.

With only three fights as a heavyweight (and another on the way against Audley Harrison), we still have not seen the best of heavyweight David Haye. With a fantastic record and bright future, he is the man that fans want to see fight a Klitschko. Haye has said he is the man to defeat the Klitschkos. Let’s not just hear it, let’s see it. Until the bell for round 1 ring, the talk is and has been meaningless. Haye should be supported for his career choices but not praised for his actions. Until his actions and behavior are followed by the best matchup in the heavyweight division, he will never show his full potential.

Please post facts and not regurgitated newspaper semi-truths. The fights were not made because of money matters and this has nothing to do with Haye’s willingness to get in the ring with either Klitschko.

  2. Another Mayweather ass in Heavyweight? Come on! Stop the hype and the loud mouth! Let the fans see what you’re talking about.
