mijaresFormer champion Cristian Mijares (38-6-2, 17KO’s) continued his comeback by battering Filipino fighter BJ Dolorosa (8-3, 1KO’s) over six rounds to get the stoppage win at Plaza de Toros Rea in Sinaloa, Mexico. After suffering three defeats in a row, a knockout loss to Vic Darchinyan and dropping two decisions to Nehomar Cermeno, Mijares is working his way back. Mijares returned last month to knock out Jesus Vidal in three rounds.

From the start of the fight, Mijares boxed and used his jab to keep the distance while he landed power shots. He busted Dolorosa’s nose in the third round and picked up the temp by battering him in the sixth round with combinations to force the stoppage.
