Former WBC and IBF Former world champion Cristian Mijares (44-6-2, 20 KOs) will face Mexican compatriot and former WBO world champion Cruz “Chucho” Carbajal (32-18-2, 26 KOs) on April 14 in Morelia, Michoacan, for the vacant WBC super bantamweight International title. Carbajal replaces Cristian “El Italiano” Esquivel.
Mijares is looking for a world title opportunity in the super bantamweight division against world champion Toshiaki Nishioka or Anselmo “Chemito” Moreno, current WBA bantamweight super champion.
I’d like to see Mijares vs. Moreno, I think that would be a good fight.
