Carl Froch will make the first defense of his IBF super-middleweight title at the Capital FM Arena in his hometown of Nottingham on November 17 against an opponent to be named next week.
Rumor is he might fight Jean Pascal brother, NABA light heavyweight championship, Nicholson Poulard.
“We’ve been offered a title fight against Carl Froch,” said promoter Camille Estephan. “We’ll have to see if we can make 168 and whether this is a viable option for us. Poulard who would be trying to avenge the loss of his brother Jean Pascal who lost to Froch for WBC title in 2008. “I will do it but 168 is going to be hard for me,” said Poulard adding “I would like to avenge my brother. I would like the fight, I would like to take his revenge.”
The Cobra, a three-time world champion, blew Lucian Bute away within five rounds to win the IBF strap in May, and he will return to the scene of his triumph when he attempts to maintain his winning run at the Capital FM Arena in his home town – before a contractually-obliged rematch with Bute in Montreal next spring.
