I recently wrote my prediction on Miguel Cotto vs Yuri Foreman. The reaction I got was a bit shocking, it seemed like everyone was disagreeing with me favoring Yuri Foreman beating the Puerto Rican super star, Miguel Cotto.
I have said it before and I will say it again, I think Miguel Cotto is done and is not because he lost his previous fight against Manny Pacquiao but the fashion he lost. When Cotto lost to Antonio 
Margarito, everyone made the assumption Margarito used loaded gloves by the way he manhandled Cotto.
Manny Pacquiao brutally beat Cotto too. Are you going to assume Pacquiao used loaded gloves?
As a boxing fan for many years I have learned to bet with your facts and not your heart. I was a huge fan of Erik Morales, he could be fighting King Kong and I would have still bet on Morales but at the end, I realized no one is superman.
Here’s another fact. Miguel Cotto is now being trained by the infamous trainer Emanuel Steward, So what? Just because Steward has been Wladimir Klitschko’s trainer that makes him the best trainer in the world? Steward also trained Tommy Hearns and Jermain Taylor and we all know what happened to Taylor. Steward is used to training taller fighters. Foreman is 5’11” and has an advantage by four inches over Cotto and has a longer reach as well.
It’s difficult to see what improvements Steward can make in Cotto’s game, other than getting him to clinch and use his jab more. Foreman is known for diving forward with his head which I think will be a big factor in this fight. If Cotto stands in his away when Foreman comes at him, he could find himself getting nailed by the top of Foreman’s head.
I guess on Saturday, June 5, we will find out if you can teach an old dog new tricks.

I disagree that Cotto is done. Although he lost to both Margarito and Pacquiao, he gave them both all they could handle. Cotto is very well against Pacquiao during the first three rounds which is moe than anyone can say about any of his opponents except may Marquez. I don’t think Foreman can take the punches to the chin the way Margarito did. Don’t be fooled by” you as good as your last fight” theory. Cotto has a lot left.
You might as well say that Mosely is done because he lost to Mayweather.

Many top fighters have lost two fights in a row and it means nothing. Barrera, Hopkins, James Toney, Shane Mosely, and guess what ? It means nothing at all. We NEVER once said they were done.
Anyway, my money is on Cotto.
Just by knoking out daniel santos which i tought impossible, i think forman can win by descision..

Well cotto has heart and has beaten many top fighters. Yuri foreman hasn’t beaten any fighter with the same caliber as cottos opponents. He might be tall and he might have the reach but he cant pull a win. Look at manny vs de la hoya. Manny small guy short reach. De la hoya tall guy,big and longer reach. I can bet you a 100 dollars that cotto will take the win by scorecards and possibly a ko. Cotto has heart and has learned a lot. Yuri on the other hand still has a lot to learn and cotto will be the first to make him taste defeat
