After confessing to the murder of his wife, the two time world champion Edwin Valero committed suicide by hanging himself in his cell according to authorities in the Venezuelan prison where he was being held. Chief Investigator Wilmer Flores stated that Valero hung himself at about 1:30am with his own clothing and the body was found by another inmate who alerted the authorities. Flores mentioned that when the prison guards found Valero, the boxer still had vital signs but could not be saved.
Valero was arrested yesterday morning after confessing to murdering his wife, Yennifer Valero, by stabbing her three times in the neck.
